Christopher Douthitt // Composer and sound artist Christopher Douthitt will discuss electronic instrument design and compositional processes for unorthodox spaces, ensembles, and people. Attendees will make sounds and improvise with instruments such as the MetallOcean and the IOI-drifter. Work samples will include excerpts from “Glyptic Channels” (for laptop ensemble, two trombones, organ, and cathedral), “Five States” (for mixed laptop ensemble and percussion), “Channeled Scablands” (for two percussionists, two speakers, and electronics), and “Voices and Apparitions” (for voice and electronics).
