Studio Ghibli is perhaps best known in the west as the home of Hayao Miyazaki, but he is not the only master at work there. Another Ghibli cofounder was the late Isao Takahata, who directed a number of extraordinary films, including this one — about a group of magical raccoon dogs in rapidly modernizing Japan.
