Please join us for the UMLAUF Prize, an exhibition awarded to outstanding UT Austin MFA students. This year’s UMLAUF Prize winners are multi-media artists Ryan Hawk and Gracelee Lawrence. The UMLAUF Prize honors a distingushed graduate student in Art at the University of Texas at Austin with an exhibition and lecture. Although the Prize traditionally has been offered to a single student, Juror Suzanne Deal Booth selected two young artists after touring graduate studios in April 2015. Both Ryan Hawk and Gracelee Lawrence will present site-specific works that engage in a dialogue with Charles Umlauf’s sculptures.
The UMLAUF Prize was created in 2004 through the generosity of sculptor Damian Priour. This exhibition was made possible by Suzanne Deal Booth, Debbie Dupré, and the Priour family.
The Opening event and Insights talk with the Artists will be free and open to the public, and the exhibit will be up until November 8th with an admission fee.
