A dynamic performance of live music, dance, story and song exploring our individual empowerment and collective strength.
“RALLY”, a new dance performance from the award-winning Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre, explores personal perspectives and collective experiences as catalysts for action and change. Born from stories of great joy, exhilaration, helplessness, and defeat, RALLY looks at how our social rituals and shared sense of space can unite, transform, and empower us. Each performance takes its own unique shape via a directed improvisation technique called Soundpainting, an ensemble conducting language used to compose dance and live music in the moment. No two shows are the same.
Starring Andrea Ariel with performers Jun Shen (Sunny), Sandie Donzica, Ciceley Fullylove, and Rebecca McLindon and featuring an original score by Austin musician Andy Nolte with house band Claude McCan, Jason DeCuir, and Garry Franklin. Supported by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. Tickets start at $15. June 13 – 16 at the Mexican American Cultural Center.
