Art installation and paintings depicting the souls of brothers and sisters from all walks of life come to gather around a metaphorical table.
For Maura Schaffer, the dining table is more than an ordinary domestic object. It is a symbol of all that is good about humanity. Functioning as a tool for sustenance, conversation and unification, the tables created for this exhibit are not only sculpted and painted by the artist, but imbued with a soul.
On Thursday, June 20 at 7pm, the Dougherty Arts Center will host an Artist Reception celebrating the soulful installation, sculpture, and paintings by Maura Schaffer. Join us for light refreshments and an opportunity to explore the exhibit while speaking with the artist.
