A long-term project chronicling the ways that Austin was built and how that has affected its populace is conducting a series of research discussions. Free snacks.
This project deals with the ways the city was made — the laying of the sidewalks, the construction of the moontowers, the installation of utilities – and how these all have shaped the landscape, both literally and figuratively. We are interested in personal stories, accounts of the institutional racism involved, academic research, and anything involving murders. We will have free food and nonalcoholic beverages for all attendees.
This event will take place from 5 – 6:30 pm on Friday, May 10 at the Motion Media Arts Center at 2200 Tillery St, Austin, TX 78723 (a short walk from the 18 and 20 bus lines) – the room will be marked out with posters.
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department – any persons or organizations that qualify as a company and wish to be involved may not currently boycott Israel or plan to boycott Israel, per: https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/GV/htm/GV.2270.v2.htm
