AFF Script Reading: Prancer

AFF Script Reading: Prancer

Presented by Austin Film Festival at Clay Pit

PRANCER by Tony Faia and Elizabeth Mims: Doug has a dead end job, a car ready to fall apart and the most elaborate satellite and computer set-up you’ve ever seen. He’s trying to keep his life together just long enough to contact aliens and convince them to abduct him-and lead him to a better life. His neighbor Cynthia doesn’t necessarily think this will work, but in Doug, she’s struck a gold mine. She’s a psychology student, and Doug’s obsession is perfect for her thesis paper. Joel is Cynthia’s roommate but anyone can see he wishes they were something more. Joel’s obsessed with Cynthia. Cynthia is obsessed with Doug. And Doug’s obsessed with aliens. They’re all looking for some outside force to fix the problems in their lives. Will this love triangle turn ugly, or will a beam of light from outer space shine down to save them all?
