Creativity Meets Copyright: Owning Your Art

Creativity Meets Copyright: Owning Your Art

Presented by Austin Music Foundation at Emo's East

Join Austin Music Foundation and Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, presented in collaboration with the Copyright Alliance.

It’s important that artists know what they own and how federal copyright protections can add value to creativity. Learn what rights you possess as a copyright owner and how to protect those rights.

Two presentations will be offered simultaneously. One presentation will focus on copyrights specifically for musicians and one will focus on all other artistic disciplines. Following the presentations, participants will have a chance to ask individual questions during a roundtable mixer with the experts.

Did you know that there are actually two copyrights related to a song? Learn more at our music presentation with attorneys:

     – Andrea Villarreal, Of Counsel, Oaks, Hartline & Daly, LLP

    – Gwen Seale, Mike Tolleson and Associates

Take a photo or paint a picture? Did you know that there are multiple revenue streams to be made from one piece of artwork? Find out more with attorneys:

    – Adrian Resendez, The Resendez Law Firm

    – Alyce Zawacki, Attorney at Law
