Six Austin performing musical acts in cooperation with Capitol View Arts will attend the Cutting Edge Music Conference in New Orleans August 26 to 30, 2015. The Conference, which expects approximately 1,500 attendees, provides music business education, particularly covering legal, filmmaking, interactive, production, and media topics and includes afternoon and nightly performances to highlight talent.
For the fifth year now, Capitol View Arts desires to promote Austin’s African-American cultural landmark, the Victory Grill, and Austin’s flourishing music scene to conference attendees from all over the U.S. and to residents of New Orleans.
In 2015, the trip will have the musical group ATX-cellence performing as an independent ensemble and backing up other Austin artists.
In addition to taking advantage of the educational and networking programs produced by the Conference, the Austin group, consisting of approximately 25 individuals, will have the opportunity to participate in numerous musical showcases, including free to the public performances at the newly restored Carver Theater for the NOLA Downtown Music and Arts Festival. CVA will be working with each artist individually to ensure that expectations are clear and that participants achieve maximum benefit from educational, performance, and networking activities.
