March Moderns concerts will take listeners on a week-long musical journey with by national and global voices from the United States to Iceland to Afghanistan. Selections explore relevant topics of freedom, equality, love, and the human condition. March Moderns includes an incredible roster of singers, instrumentalists, and poets; world and regional premieres; and insightful pre-concert talks before each performance.

Surround yourself in a sensual sound bath with Canticle, Kile Smith’s ethereal setting of the Spiritual Canticle of the 15th century mystic, St. John of the Cross. This luminous festival closer features the choir, three celli, and vibraphone.  “Arresting beauty” and “shimmering spirituality” are just a few phrases used by critics to describe Kile Smith’s music.
