What could possibly be more important than family, love, and even food? For the girl at the center of the story in J.S. Bach’s Cantata Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht, the answer is…coffee!

Beerthoven is stirring up a different kind of brew for our Beerthoven’s Fifth Season Finale: Caffeinated Composers! Featuring energizing music with a café theme including Bach’s “Coffee Cantata,” the jazzy sounds of Paul Schoenfield’s trio Café Music, and other caffeinated works. All told, it will be our most “sobering” concert exbeerience yet!

This program of uppers and downers will also feature some free “percs”, including beer from Lazarus Brewing, wine, pastries from Easy Tiger, and some caffeinated beverages. As always, this will be a family-friendly show.

At the center of the program will be our old friends in invoke, winners of the 2018 Austin Critic’s Table Awards for Best Classical Ensemble Performance (for their previous performance for Beerthoven). Other performers on the program include Soprano Charissa Memrick, Baritone David Small, Tenor Steven Brennfleck, Flutist Megan Meisenbach, and Pianists Leanna Lam and Miguel Campinho.

About Beerthoven:

The Beerthoven Concert Series is a down-to-earth, approachable celebration of classical song and chamber music; a quirky mixture of Oktoberfest and Bach Fest, presented in a unique and intimate setting. Beerthoven finds its inspiration from the musical and festive events at the Austin Saengerrunde as well as the private “salon” concerts of Beethoven’s own time. All Beerthoven events feature snacks, drinks, and live classical music, all included with admission. There is no backstage area here; audience members may even find themselves standing in line for beer with the performers.
