Violet Crown Festival

Violet Crown Festival

Presented by Violet Crown Community Works at Brentwood Park

Art, Music and More on Tap at Violet Crown Festival!

Springtime means the Violet Crown Festival is on the horizon! This art-filled festival is literally a walk in the park, with plenty of stops for music, food, shopping, and tons of free kids’ activities. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 4th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brentwood Park (6710 Arroyo Seco, access from Yates) is the setting for this beloved festival, and admission is free.

The annual event will again showcase the best of local music, art and craft vendors, Austin food, community resources, and family activities. Proceeds from the festival will benefit projects in the Brentwood and Crestview communities.

Staged by Violet Crown Community Works (VCCW) with support from major sponsors like Grande Communications,  this spring’s festival is the 17th neighborhood event VCCW has coordinated since 2003.

Shop: 40+ artisan booths are a treasure of some of Austin’s most creative crafts and fine arts, while the festival’s legendary silent auction features gift certificates and more from favorite local businesses. This year’s silent auction will benefit playground equipment improvements at Brentwood Park.

Eat: Have a picnic in the park with tasty bites and bevs from Austin’s local food scene, including neighborhood favorite  Domino Dogs, El Dorado Cafe, Fire and Slice Pizza, Amy’s Ice Cream, and Snowie’s Snow Cones.

Dance: It’s not an Austin festival without live music! Groove to local bands, while enjoying the beautiful setting of Brentwood Park.

Play: Other offerings include jugglers, face painting and community sponsored activities like life-sized Jenga and chess, hula-hoops, many different craft stations (now’s your chance to make that mother’s day gift!), and ladder golf.

Parking is limited, so attendees are encouraged to walk or cycle to the festival.

Violet Crown Community Works is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas, helping build and sustain community in Brentwood and Crestview by supporting neighborhood enhancement projects and events.
