Come take part in a German festival that marks the arrival of spring: Maifest, “the little sister of Oktoberfest.” Maifest has the same friendly, welcoming atmosphere as Oktoberfest, but it has its own special brew: Maibock beer. The Walburg Boys, Austin Polka Band, Sunshine Willie and Yodel Blizt will play your favorite tunes. And of course there will be German food and drinks. There will also be a Kinderzone (kids area) with a lot of kids activities

Located in the heart of the Red River Cultural District where you will find one of Austin’s best kept secrets, the German Free School: a historical building and terraced gardens to enjoy the afternoon of all things German and Gemütlichkeit.  Gemütlichkeit, you ask? It’s a German word used to describe a state of belonging, warmth, and friendliness.
