Austin Shakespeare and Esquina Tango collaborate to present the poetry of García Lorca set to music and dance for two nights at Esquina Tango Studio.
Canto Jundo/Deep Song performing the soulful, imagistic poetry of Federico García Lorca with music and dance — in Spanish and English. Lorca is often recognized as Spain’s most innovative playwright of the 20th Century, but his heart is revealed in his poetry. Selections from his poems of the 1920s & 30s will be interlaced with the story of the wild ride of his extraordinary life. Actors include Liz Vera of San Antonio and well-known Austin actor/director, Mary Alice Carnes. Also featuring tango with Monica Caivano & Gustavo Simplis; and Flamenco dancer, Stephanie Keeton.
