La Follia performs a concert of vocal masterworks from Italy, France, Germany, and England.
Featured are familiar hits such as Handel’s Eternal Source (from the Royal Wedding), Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring and Lobet den Herrn, and selections from Vivaldi’s Gloria. Also on the program are superb arias by Alessandro Scarlatti, Caccini, Pergolesi, Clerambault, Campra, Charpentier, Mondonville, Purcell, Handel, Fux, and Telemann.
Performing are soprano Meredith Ruduski, countertenor Sean Lee, tenor Steven Brennfleck, and bass Curt Vaughan, with an 18-piece Baroque chamber ensemble and chorus, in the spacious acoustic of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Sara Schneider from KMFA Classical 89.5 will provide commentary during the concert.
