BoCCa Sábados: Civil Rights

Presented by Biliteracy Club Communities of Austin (BoCCa) at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.

View the digital stories of “Separate is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez and Her Family’s Fight for Desegregation,” “Cosechando Esperanza: La Historia de César Chávez,” and “I Have a Dream.” Then participate in civil rights activities to learn more about these stories.

BoCCa Sábados is a family- friendly event focusing on bilingual storytelling through the performance and digital arts. Families with youth ages 5-12 are highly encouraged to attend. Open to the public.

BoCCa Sábados is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. BoCCa is a sponsored project of Austin Creative Alliance, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit arts organization.
