Liminal Sound Series presents Albert Novello (JesterN) at Mo Me Mer Mondays. He is on tour from Holland using laser drawing and modular synthesis.
Alberto Novello’s practice takes place at the limits of technology, where expression is fragile, between invention and unreliability. He composes evolving architectures, where electricity branches into itself creating unpredictable results: if a system doesn’t break, then it can be used to explore new languages, possibly made of imperfections and glitches, to remind us that human knowledge is limited, our science subjective and technology transitory. His productions range from digital system to analog modular synthesizers, using brain sensors to drive lasers and stochastic visuals or exploring new circuit designs. Alberto’s creations aim to bridge the gap between pop culture and scientific research in order to connect with everyone.

Alberto Novello a.k.a. JesterN is an Italian scientist, composer, multimedia artist. His main artistic focus is directed towards the creation of probabilistic multi-media architectures, on the technological limit between instability and error, failure and expression. Lately he moved from digital systems to analog found or decontextualized electronic ensembles.
