A John Cage show.
Before 4’33” or indeterminacy, John Cage forged the early identity of percussion music with wildly imaginative and complex creations. He stated that “Percussion music is revolution. Sound and rhythm have too long been submissive to the restrictions of 19th century music.” He was right, he changed that, and we as percussionists are grateful.
