Tapestry Singers, Austin’s Women’s Chorus, is proud to present “Here on These Branches,” it’s 2018 Fall Concert.
Since 1987, Tapestry Singers has encouraged women, regardless of race, color, sexual identity, or vocal confidence, to explore their singing abilities and experience the joy and healing that comes from music and singing.
Inspired by bees, birds, and flight, the program will feature “Here on These Branches”, an enchanting piece by Sarah Quartel. In keeping with past Tapestry concerts, this concert includes a diverse range of pieces such as “Sansa Kroma”, by Felicia A.B. Sandler, a traditional Akan playground song, “Feed the Birds”, from the musical Mary Poppins, and “Abschiedslied der Zugvogel” by Felix Mendelssohn. Explore the beauty of nature’s flying creatures through the art of music and song with Tapestry Singers this fall.
Tapestry Singers is a welcoming, non-auditioned chorus for any woman who wants to sing. Their mission is to joyfully create music that inspires their audience, their community and themselves. Experience the charm of 30 years of dedication to lifting women’s voices and spirits through the art of song.
This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
