Cinema Touching Disability is thrilled to celebrate their 15th Anniversary! Join them October 19 & 20 at the Alamo Drafthouse Village for a two great nights of food, community, and of course, outstanding disability films!

To celebrate 15 years, Cinema Touching Disability is proud to present a retrospective program, with selected short films from their Short Film Competition. Revisit favorites from all over the globe that have screened at past Fests!

TILLY’S SYMPHONY with intro & live performance by Tilly Jones

14 year old Tilly Jones who has Cerebral Palsy and a host of other conditions, plays five instruments and has learnt to construct classical pieces for both string ensembles and more recently, a full orchestra. Despite all the challenges she faces, her determination to write and play music is strong. This short documentary reveals Tilly’s great ambitions to fulfill her passion of music and the hard work she faces to get there.

Tilly and local musician Eric Clow will also being performing live before the show each night!

SHATTERING STEREOTYPES ON MT. EVEREST followed by Q&A with Team Everest ’03

Meet a group of disabled adults with a mission to climb the world’s tallest mountain. Organized by CTD in 2003, this record-breaking expedition truly shows us all that there are no limits.

The Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival is a program of the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities. With one in five Texans having a disability, CTD works to ensure that persons with disabilities may work, live, learn, play and participate fully in the community of their choice.

The Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival receives generous support from Superior HealthPlan, United Healthcare, Amerigroup, BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, and Magellan Healthcare. This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. Financial Support is also provided by the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities, with Federal funds* made available by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Developmental Disabilities. *$6,788 (89%) DD funds; $800 (11%) non-federal resources.

Admission Info

A $10.00 ticket guarantees a seat and can be redeemed for $10.00 worth of food and drink from the Drafthouse menu (that’s free admission!).
