The Harry Ransom Center’s Young Adventurers Film Series concludes on Saturday, June 27, at 3 p.m. with Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are (2009).
Adapted from Maurice Sendak’s childhood tale, the film tells the story of Max, who sails to the island of the Wild Things and becomes their king.
The program is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome. Seating is first-come, first-served, and doors open at 2:30 p.m. Run time is 101 minutes, and the film is rated PG.
This series is held in conjunction with the Ransom Center’s current exhibition Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, on view through July 6.
Attendees may enter to win a copy of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are and a gift basket from Terra Toys, which includes a kaleidoscope, an optical illusion jigsaw puzzle, Edgar Allen Poe bandages, and a $20 gift card to Terra Toys.
