Touch This Art! The Book release. Aztec Calendar Stone, Arte Al Toque, la Piedra Solar azteca

Touch This Art! The Book release. Aztec Calendar Stone, Arte Al Toque, la Piedra Solar azteca

Presented by Austin Book Arts Center at Austin Book Arts Center

A very limited edition artist book, of handmade cast paper, in high relief, each plate being page-size versions of the art displayed in the Touch This Art / Arte Al Toque exhibit.

The big idea is that art for the blind is VERY rare. Touch this art is the first EVER independent art for the blind exhibit in Texas. An exhibit comes and goes, a book remains.

10 copies will be made, to be donated to blind education initiatives in Austin and elsewhere. The book has bilingual Braille, English Spanish, and even some Nahuatl (the Aztec First Nation language, still spoken by a few in Mexico)

See other nowplayingaustin listings for the exhibit (Sept 21 to Oct 15) and workshops (Sat 09/29/18 is the first)

Admission Info

Free Admission, but you are welcome to donate toward the books being donated – your name will be added to each page, or book.

Please come, help us share, an art-for-the-blind book is a unique event, none since 2014 worldwide, and a bilingual one, first time in the world!
