Folklore y Ritmos de Panama hosts its annual Gala.
Austin’s most established Panamanian dance troupe invites you to join in its 17th year of brining its elegant and festive folkloric dances to life. The Sterling Center will once again house the rich sounds of the drums, accordions and voices that conjure contagious songs the dancers interpret to represent the folks in the fields, coasts, mountains and ballrooms of the Central American Isthmus.
The family event commemorating Panama’s independence offers dancing to Tropical rhythms of Orchestra Trabuko and delicious dishes by local Latin American food vendors for sale. In addition, guests will experience directly from Panama the enchanting voice of Latin American Idol winner Margarita Hernandez and the humor of entertainer Lucho Perez, host of the popular show Hecho en Panama.
Come experience this unique level of Panamanian culture you can’t find anywhere else in Austin!!!
Discounted ticket sales are $20 in advance through Oct. 27 and $25 after Oct. 27 and at the door. Children 7-12 tickets are $10. Children 6 years and under tickets are free.
