Special Olympics Comes to Austin

Presented by Special Olympics at Capital Building

This summer, more than 20,000 people from all walks of life will unite in a journey across America, including many from right here in Austin. They’ll be part of a movement for respect and inclusion: the Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America presented by Bank of America.

The relay will follow three simultaneous routes and pass through all 50 states, and it will run through Austin on Monday, June 22 starting at 1 p.m. Get involved in advance by visiting www.unifiedrelay.org.

Special Olympics and Bank of America have joined together to create this first-ever Unified Relay – a massive, cross-country event which will carry the Flame of Hope to the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. Individuals, families and businesses will participate to demonstrate their commitment to inclusion in a variety of ways – by running or walking in the relay, volunteering, or simply cheering the participants on.
