Fall Equinox Celebration with Taino & Indigenous Friends

Fall Equinox Celebration with Taino & Indigenous Friends

Presented by Puerto Rican Cultural Center at Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance and Cultural Center

!! BRING YOUR BEACH CHAIR & MARACA !!
And a harvest-themed refreshment to share!

Our ancestors lived in-tune with the seasons — and we still do! Join Taino and Indigenous friends under the Grandmother Pecan Trees, as we celebrate the end of summer. It will be a great time to reflect on how far you have come in the last year, and celebrate the harvest in your life!

The afternoon Indigenous Gathering will feature LIVE Taino music and Areyto (ceremonial dance) for all to participate in! Bring a harvest-themed refreshment to share!! Afterwards we will enjoy fellowship and conversation.

This celebration will take place outdoors (or indoors if rain) at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, 701 Tillery Street, Austin 78702. Our entrance is in back facing the lawn, steps away from free parking.

Our Taino & Indigenous friends celebration is sponsored in part by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Our season of cultural outreach is supported in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts, and the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
