A work in progress screening of the documentary “Building the American Dream.”
“Building the American Dream” follows undocumented construction workers in Texas as they fight against exploitations in the industry. Texas is the deadliest state to work in construction and immigrants are more at risk to be injured or killed on the job. See how one group of workers are standing up to gain basic safety protections for all workers.
This screening will be comprised of a 75-minute rough cut of the film and a 45-minute discussion in which the audience can give feedback, comments or ask questions. This conversation will help the film team fine tune the edit before the actual premiere.
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
This film is fiscally sponsored by Austin Film Society.
