All Ticket Sale Proceeds Go to The Salvation Army! At time of celebration, Chinese Americans won’t forget those in need. And ACAN is proud to be part of that mission and to share our joy.
For thousands of years, Chinese people have celebrated the harvest during the autumn full moon, the Mid-Autumn Festival. Over time, the Festival has become not only a time to celebrate the harvest and achievements under a full moon, but also a time to give thanks, for nature’s abundance and for joyful reunions with loved ones.
On Saturday, Sept 22nd, the Austin Chinese-American Network (ACAN) cordially invite you to join their Mid-Autumn celebration, a night filed with Chinese culture. ACAN will present a feast of performing arts, including traditional music instruments, Chinese folk songs, Chinese folk dances, Beijing opera, and a Cheongsam (旗袍) fashion show. Participating artists include renowned musicians and local performing arts teams.
At time of celebration, we don’t forget those in need. Earlier this year, ACAN celebrated the Chinese Spring Festival with families in The Salvation Army’s downtown shelter. For the Mid-Autumn event, ACAN has again decided to help out. We will donate all proceeds from the ticket sales to The Salvation Army. We share their mission, which is to meet the basic human needs without discrimination. Each year, tens of thousands of local people receive assistance from The Salvation Army. They offer a broad range of social services, from food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, rehabilitation for the addicted, clothing and shelter for the homeless, to case management for people trying to move from crisis to self-sufficiency. ACAN is proud to be part of that mission and share their joys.
This event is open to public with $8 each ACAN member and $12 each non ACAN member ticket price.
