“During my lifetime in Austin – I have evolved my work along with my sense of self expression. Form the age of 2, I held a pencil in my hand to displace the loneliness inside of being different. Yet through the trials and tribulations of my own life as a gifted protege’ growing up in a community where change can be seen as triumph or tragedy, I have put together a visual canvas of my life and my works as a testament to my sense of existence. Even as an Austin nite, I found it critical and detrimental that my voice as an Artist be heard. I have invited by fate – my long time friend and silent teacher – Brian”De Bydee Man” Joseph along for this most expressive journey through my life as a newly Disabled Artist. Join me in my travels of Art – Color – as well as self – Expression through Art.” – Deshawn Washington
