Belmondo plays an itinerant pulp novelist who lives vicariously through his most popular creation, the reckless spy Bob Sinclair (also played by Belmondo).
Belmondo reteams with THAT MAN FROM RIO director Philippe de Broca in this multifaceted comedy about a pulp fiction writer who can barely eke out a living, whose love life is a mess and who fantasizes endlessly about the adventures of reckless spy Bob Sinclair, the hero of his dime novels. The film careens between the mundane life of the novelist and the jet-setting adventures of the imaginary spy, with very witty and revealing results. With Jacqueline Bisset as the woman “both” men are striving to impress.
This July, we celebrate the great actor – and wildly popular action star – Jean-Paul Belmondo with a selection of his best work, both high-brow and low.
