For its 10^thseason, Young Shakespeare, Austin Shakespeare’s teen company, will bring its unique flavor to Richard & Laetitia Garriott de Cayeux’s outdoor Curtain Theatre (7400 Coldwater Canyon Drive) for Hamlet, which plays for the public Thursdays through Sundays at 8 pm, June 14 – 24, 2018. Featuring teen actors in all roles with a female Hamlet (something Austin Shakespeare has also cast in the past with their professional company.)

“We are setting this Hamlet in the mid-20^thCentury in a cross between the regal, The Crown, and coolness of Mad Men, ignited by the passion that Shakespeare demands. Our young actors have the same rigorous rehearsal schedule as our adult company, but they are energetic and rise to the challenge of Shakespeare’s language in stunning ways,” said Artistic Director Ann Ciccolella. The production will also include a teen band playing Beatles and Rolling Stones music to accompany the show.
