Saudade do Brasil: Los Bohemios Perdidos Perform the Music of Brazil at the M.A.C.C.

Presented by Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.

Obrigado, Brasil! The third largest country in the American continent and the fifth largest country in the world is home to some of the greatest music humanity has produced. Los Bohemios Perdidos as they say thanks to Brazil for its lush harmonies, enchanting melodies, and infectious grooves. Being a true melting pot of European, African and indigenous traditions (like much of Latin America), this land of contrasts; nation of immigrants, land of lush tropical forests, gorgeous beaches, vast prairies, peaceful countryside, and vibrant and complex cities, keeps producing fabulous musical gem after gem. Los Bohemios Perdidos will be performing our versions of masterpieces by Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Pixinguinha, Antônio Carlos Jobim, among many other genius musicians, lyricists, and social commentators. Joined by a string section (two violins and viola), percussionist Mike Longoria and bassist Janie Cowan and guest singer Juliana Sheffield.

Obrigado, Brasil!
