Beyond the Pages highlights texts by iconic writers and poets from the past two hundred years. Writers such as Emily Dickinson, Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain, and Robert Louis Stevenson have created themes that lend themselves perfectly to music for children’s choirs. Their writings describe stories of make believe, adventure, and even, practical advice which the singers of The Austin Children’s Choir have come to love over the past semester. Along with our presentation of outstanding authors, we will look at great text through the lens of folk music from Russia, France, England, and America.
