Austin History Center’s newest photo exhibit, We’ll Just Rock for Ourselves, features photographs taken in the 1990s documenting the lesbian and queer music community.
The Austin History Center invites you to come see its newest photo exhibit, “We’ll Just Rock for Ourselves: Selections from the Lisa Davis Photograph Archive.” The photographs were taken by Davis in the early 1990s and document the lesbian and queer music community of Austin. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Tuesday April, 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Austin History Center. The reception will feature live music by Austin Chronicle Music Poll Hall-of-Famer Gretchen Phillips, who has played in a number of lezzie rock bands including Meat Joy, Girls in the Nose, Two Nice Girls, and The Gretchen Phillips Xperience. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibit runs April 24 to July 22.
