Join KMFA for a Listen Local presentation of Gustav Mahler’s 1895 masterpiece, the “Resurrection” symphony. Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 calls upon the forces of a full orchestra, choir, and soloists, and changed the landscape of symphonic writing in its time. For this broadcast, we’ll hear Maestro Gerhardt Zimmermann lead the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra with soloists Andrea Edith Moore, soprano and Kathryn Findlen, mezzo–soprano and the University of Texas Choirs directed by James Morrow. This performance, dedicated to the memory of Draylen Mason, was recorded live at Texas Performing Arts’ Bass Concert Hall on April 3, 2018.

KMFA’s Jeffrey Blair hosts this Listen Local broadcast on Sunday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m.

This broadcast is part of KMFA’s Listen Local series. This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department, the Still Water Foundation, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
