St. David’s Midday Music: Five Mystical Songs

St. David’s Midday Music: Five Mystical Songs

Presented by St David’s Episcopal Church at St. David's Episcopal Church

Baritone Mark Wischkaemper and pianist Eric Mellenbruch present Vaughan Williams’s magnificent cycle of art songs setting texts by seventeenth-century British metaphysical poet George Herbert. From the ethereal ‘Love bade me welcome’ to the stirring ‘The Call’ and the thrilling ‘Antiphon’, this lush and lovely music is a perfect interlude to anyone’s day.

Midday Music, a series of half-hour concerts by distinguished musicians, is St. David’s gift to the community. Afterwards, add a delicious lunch with a skyline view at St. David’s own Café Divine, with several a la carte options. Walk from other downtown destinations; take MetroBus 4, 17, 21, or 22; or park free of charge in St. David’s garage on Trinity between 7th and 8th Streets.
