Following a sold-out October premiere, the Austin Chamber Music Center presents the second event of its A Moveable Feast concert series.
Partnering with Imagine Art and co-sponsored by Central Market and Turnstyle Interior Design, the evening will feature a powerful fusion of music and photography evoking the complexity of the Holocaust.
Olivier Messiaen composed Quartet for the End of Time in 1941 while he was confined as a prisoner-of-war in German captivity, where it was premiered with fellow prisoners. In conjunction with the performance of this importance composition, photographer Mark Lit’s Holocaust exhibition entitled “Treasures of Darkness” will be featured. Performing artists are violinist Sonja Larson, clarinetist Nick Councilor, cellist Nora Karakousoglou, and Austin Chamber Music Center Artistic Director and pianist Michelle Schumann.
Tickets include hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Join us for a thought-provoking evening.
$25 tickets available online on Eventbrite. Includes drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
