Austin’s premier early music ensemble, The Austin Troubadours, brings to life the magic and mystery of the Venice carnival with authentic musical instruments, masks, and costumes, they play and sing tunes from Medieval and Renaissance Venice.
The Austin Troubadours’ mission is to revive the beauty of musical masterpieces from 12th through 16th century Europe. With over 30 period instruments, they perform secular and sacred dances and songs in a high-energy, nonconventional show guided by the principles of “historically informed performance.”
This show is an Independent Artist’s Project, supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
