Local ensemble Tetractys will perform ten new works by local composers between the ages of 9 to 18, written under the guidance of professional mentors.
Golden Hornet’s 3rd Annual Young Composer Concert presents ten new works from Austin-area youth ranging between ages 9 and 18. Writing the new works under the guidance of professional mentors, each piece will be performed by local ensemble Tetractys, between brief interviews with the composers. This year, Golden Hornet is collaborating with the Austin Symphony and 250 other artists to celebrate the great Leonard Bernstein through Bernstein 100 Austin. Recorded live at the concert collectively produced by the participants, the new music will reach wide audiences, including listeners of KMFA and KUTX.
