Join KMFA’s Jeffrey Blair and Sara Schneider for Austin Opera’s production of Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, broadcast live from the Long Center! Reimagined in a rural Central Texas setting, this opera within an opera combines Greek mythology and slapstick comedy, and is by turns comical, tender, and touching. Richard Strauss’ glorious music is brought to life by an ensemble cast led by soprano Alexandra LoBianco, tenor Jonathon Burton, soprano Jeni Houser, and mezzo-soprano Aleks Romano. Maestro Richard Buckley conducts.

This broadcast is part of KMFA’s Listen Local series. This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department, the Still Water Foundation, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
