Three Yorkshire couples discover, as they are about to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, that they were never legally married. Social embarrassment is followed by a dawning awareness that their lives have been overturned.
Different Stages continues its 2017- 2018 season with J.B. Priestley’s When We Are Married. The Helliwells, the Parkers and the Soppitts are highly respected pillars of their community … but not for much longer. Married on the same day in the same chapel, they gather to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. The celebrations are short-lived when they discover the vicar wasn’t licensed and they are actually not married. In fact, they have been living in sin for 25 years.
Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. Added performance on Wednesday January 31. Please note When We Are Married closes on Friday February 2. Tickets are: $15 Thursday, and pick your price $20, $25 or $30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
