One of Austin’s most venerable and longest-running performance festivals, FronteraFest, returns in 2018 for its milestone 25th year. Attracting artists, actors, musicians, poets and performers of all types, it is now one of the largest and most popular fringe performance festivals in the Southwest.

While FronteraFest has attracted worldwide recognition and participation, it is a unique collaboration between two of Austin’s foremost arts organizations, Hyde Park Theatre, an award-winning professional theatre in Central Austin, and ScriptWorks, a playwright development and service organization with members in Austin, the state and around the country.

FronteraFest is composed of three separate performance events. The Short Fringe showcases pieces 25 minutes or less, and runs the entirety of the festival (January 16 – February 17), and takes place at Hyde Park Theatre, 511 West 43^rd Street. Bring Your Own Venue (B.Y.O.V.) runs January 22 through February 4, at various locations throughout Austin and Mi Casa es Su Teatro takes place one day only on February 10, primarily in private Austin homes.
