TIDINGS OF JAZZ & JOY WITH KEIKO MATSUI, EUGE GROOVE FT. LINDSEY WEBSTER & ADAM HAWLEY

Presented by One World Theatre at One World Theatre

A world citizen, Keiko Matsui’s music speaks to the hearts and souls of fans around the world, transcending borders and building bridges among people who share a common appreciation of honest artistry and cultural exchange. She is a powerhouse pianist who has worked alongside everyone from Miles Davis and Stevie Wonder to Hugh Masekela and Bob James. Matsui’s CD, Deep Blue topped Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz charts for three consecutive weeks making her the first Japanese artist to achieve this honor. A master storyteller, she crafts passionate and emotive songs with lush harmonies and global rhythms to create timeless musical anthems.

Euge Groove, a chart-topping multi-instrumentalist found prominence as a saxophonist for such remarkable acts as Tower of Power, Joe Cocker, Eurythmics, Huey Lewis & the News, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Aaron Neville, and Richard Marx. “Vinyl,” the first single from his self-titled solo debut, set a record by spending 27 weeks on the R&R charts, eventually ranking at number 24 for the year. Play Date kept the trend going with two more number one radio hits, “Slam Dunk” and “Rewind.” Groove’s, Livin’ Large, spent 68 weeks on the Billboard charts, debuted at number four, and came in at number 25 overall. “Livin’ Large,” the single, was the number five most played song on the R&R singles chart, while “XXL” spent 36 weeks on the radio charts.

Growing up in an artist community in Woodstock NY, the allure of music was never far from Lindsey Webster. The adorable, instantly likeable and earthy singer/songwriter has been taking the contemporary jazz world by storm, scoring a number one hit with her soulful original, “Fool Me Once.” This feat is remarkable in numerous ways. Not only is Webster’s half the age of the male instrumentalists who dominate the genre, but her number one is the first vocal driven song that has topped the Billboard smooth jazz chart since Sade’s “Soldier of Love” in 2010. With the release of Back To Your Heart, Lindsey Webster is poised to find her way into your heart.

It has been an exciting past year for guitarist Adam Hawley, whose debut record “Just The Beginning” was released on March 18. The first single “35th Street,” had the longest run at number one on Billboard in 2016 and was the number one most added on Billboard and SmoothJazz.com in its first week. Since then the second single “Joy Ride,” is currently number one on Mediabase and number two on the Billboard charts. Hawley has also been named both Smooth Jazz News and JazzTrax Debut Artist of the Year. He is also known as a prolific sideman, appearing with a who’s who list of artists in a wide variety of genres, including Dave Koz, Jennifer Lopez, Natalie Cole, Gerald Albright, and American Idol to name just a few.
