SCIENCE ON SCREEN: STUMPED

When filmmaker Will Lautzenheiser loses his limbs due to a bacterial infection, he takes an unconventional approach to therapy. Stand-up comedy. Meanwhile, a team of surgeons is performing transplants that restore patients’ bodies to unprecedented levels. With new hope to reclaim his independence, Will risks his life to undergo an experimental double-arm transplant.

Q&A will feature Dr. Richard Freeman, the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs at Dell Medical School and a veteran transplant surgeon, along with STUMPED director Robin Berghaus. An AFS Grant-supported film.
