David Cook rose to national fame when he won American Idol in 2008. Later that year he released his self-titled major label debut album, which sold 1.5 million copies and his 2011 follow-up, This Loud Morning, that debuted in the Top 10.  Cook has also had a successful writing career breaking into the Nashville scene with his rootsy sensibility, including the Top 20 single, “Kiss You Tonight,” for David Nail. But his latest album, Digital Vein, is something else entirely, featuring Cook’s powerful voice and dynamic guitar work, knifing through vibrant soundscapes that boldly juxtapose man-made grooves and electronic textures. He personifies the good guy victor, hanging on to his fan base by touring and endless meeting and greeting, selling some records along the way with songs that reached the Platinum mark and broke through on both the Billboard Hot 100 and 200.
