Join us to explore the fascinating history of women in the arts!
We will examine the rich history of women in the arts from medieval times to modern day through 6 mini lectures presented by M.A. and PhD. students in UT’s Art History Department. Join us as we look beyond the ubiquitous role of women as models and muses and consider women as artists, patrons, viewers, and cultural critics. Explore the work of artists past and present who have challenged the narrative of the “male genius” to create bodies of work exploring/critiquing what it means to be labeled a “woman artist.”
Speakers include: Maryam Ohadi, Taylor Bradley, Jessamine Batario, Catherine Powell, and more!
Tickets are $5.00 online and $7.00 at the door.
