Fifteen years ago a filmmaker lived in a homeless camp on an island. She recalls this time as one of the most free in her life – the only period of adult life spent outside of capitalism. In memory, idyllic scenes of swimming with seals and ocean moonrises collide with harsh, dark ones- mental illness, perilous conditions, and death. What was real? Does real mean that you would experience it the same way at different points in time? If so then nothing is real. Join her as she returns to The Valley to explore these and other questions.
This will be clips of a work in progress, with the fillmmaker in attendance. Free and open to the public. Current, former, and future homeless people are specially invited.
