The Backyard

The Backyard, only four songs from downtown Austin, is located in the heart of Texas Hill Country at the intersection of Highway 71 and 620 in Bee Caves, Texas. The amphitheater sits under a canopy of giant oak trees in a natural valley. It has a professional stage with load-bearing roof, lighting and sound systems, backstage compound and dressing rooms, all designed with the artist in mind.

The Cohen New Works Festival presented by the University Co-op

The Cohen New Works Festival presented by the University Co-op, is a week-long showcase of new work created by UT students held every other Spring in various locations in and around the Winship Drama Building and the University of Texas campus. It is not just an event, but a celebration of a continuously ongoing process–the creation of new work.Inaugurated in 2001 as a ‘new play festival’, The Cohen New Works Festival was created and named in honor of David Mark Cohen, former head of playwriting within The University of Texas at Austin Department of Theatre and Dance. Cohen was killed in a car crash on December 23, 1997, but during his life, he was an adamant supporter of new work. In his honor, and through the generous and continuous support of the University Co-op, the Cohen New Works Festival continues to explore the endless possibilities of devised and collaborative new work with no strings attached.Today, the Festival has evolved to include not just plays, but all mediums of student-generated new work. It is the largest festival of its kind, being run and organized entirely by a committee of graduate and undergraduate students, with the support of faculty co-producers.

The Old Pecan Street Association

Old Pecan Street Association has been around for over 30 years. It was started by a group of women to ensure that Old Pecan Street (6th Street) would continue to be remembered by the city. They in turn created the Old Pecan Street Festival which started with a mere dozen booths and now has over 300 vendors every year. The Spring and the Fall show attract local artist from all over Austin and central Texas. Over 100,000 people attend the festivals yearly and all the profits from the festival go back into preserving Old Pecan Street. Well over $75,000 per year is put into beautifying the street.

The Pecan Street Association

The Pecan Street Association (“PSA”) is a not-for-profit 501 (C)-4 group of volunteer business owners, professionals, artists and concerned citizens dedicated to advancing and preserving the integrity of the important, historic and unique area known as the Sixth Street Historic District. In order to meet these goals, proceeds from the activities of PSA, mainly the Pecan Street Festival, include beautification, education and other promotional activities. In addition, PSA supports the community through financial contributions to charities serving the Austin region.

Violet Crown Community Works

Violet Crown Community Works is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas, helping build and sustain community in Brentwood and Crestview by supporting neighborhood enhancement projects. In addition to the annual Violet Crown Festival in May and Violet Crown Arts Festival in December, VCCW also has sponsored art projects in the community. These include: The Wall of Welcome, the mural in front of the Minimax grocery store Voices of the Violet Crown, stories of neighbors creating community—past, present, and future Friends of Brentwood Park Urban Patchwork Neighborhood Farms at Brentwood Elementary.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focusing on the development of the Latino community of central Texas, including areas of health, education, and culture. Voces Latinas celebrates the Festival de las Artes Latinoamericanas Austin (FALA) during Heritage Month with cultural activities such as cinematography, theater, literacy, music, and folklore. Voces Latinas es una organización no lucrativa establecida en Austin Texas para la promoción de la Educación y la Cultura Latinoamericana en el Centro de Texas. Voces Latinas celebra el Festival de las Artes Latinoamericanas Austin(FALA) dentro del marco del mes de la herencia hispana, FALA se ha convertido en un factor diferenciador dentro de la comunidad latina al presentar un Festival que incluye disciplinas como: cine, teatro, literatura, música y folklore.
