Work-in-Progress screening of short immigration film "Things We Left Behind"

Please join ICOSA on Wed Aug 8 at 8pm (doors/socializing at 7:30pm) for a work-in-progress screening of the short film, “Things We Left Behind.” The 9 minute film will be followed by a short feedback session to provide input on the story and edit.

The screening will be at the ICOSA Gallery in East Austin

About the project:

“Things We Left Behind” is a visual diary film of an immigrant’s experience, recounting memories and objects that connect her to her former life. At 12 years old, Edilsa came to the US as an unaccompanied minor, with nothing save for a plastic bag to protect her from the cold. The film is a story of survival and how the unfolding of memory can propel one beyond insufferable trauma and loss.
