Western Film Series: "Duel in the Sun" (1946)

This epic Western stars Joseph Cotton, Jennifer Jones, Lionel Barrymore, Lillian Gish, and Gregory Peck. Leonard Maltin called it “producer-writer David O. Selznick’s ambitious attempt to duplicate the success of Gone with the Wind: big, brawling, engrossing, often stupid sex-Western, with some memorable scenes and an unexpectedly bizarre finale.” With a Texas tycoon, good guys, scoundrels, ranch hands, and all of the Western-movie clichés, it’s a treat to see on our big screen.
