The Bone Black Gallery is pleased to present a workshop and exhibition by Cleveland based artist Eranah Adorjan on Saturday July 30th. For the exhibition Unpacked, the artist will be creating a collage work in situ on the gallery’s 9×14’ wall. Adherence to chance and outside determination are core portions of Adorjan’s practice, which includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media art. By manipulating the viewer into a state of quizzical confusion, the artist masterfully creates intense personal moments by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal. The work lures the viewer round and round in circles, peering through layers for insight. Recognizable forms and symbols are embedded in a matrix of abstraction through dimensional collage that literally pops off the wall. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. A reception for the opening of the show will be held from 7-9pm.
Adorjan will also be hosting Free Range Collage, from 11am-2pm on the 30th. This workshop is open to persons of all levels of artististic experience. Workshop participants will collaborate to create a large scale collage. The piece will map the collective associations of all participants and give insights through formal relationships and absurd connections among elements. The end result will be displayed as part of PrintAustin 2017.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. The workshop does require preregistration, interested parties please email info@womenprintmakers.org
